Top 5 – the best poems about mom

5th place. It is considered that the most heartfelt and light poems about mother are written for children. This is partly true, because the image of the most dear and close person, adapted for children’s perception, turns out to be very touching and tender. Suffice it to recall the famous poem by Elena Blaginina “Sit in Silence”, which is permeated with love and care, sensitivity and spiritual warmth.
4th place. Nevertheless, the classics of Russian poetry repeatedly addressed the image of the mother, for whom, after years, she was still the best adviser and link between childhood and adult life. For example, in the poem “Mom”, Marina Tsvetaeva recalls the happiest moments of her life in her parent’s house, when her mother was for her not only a guardian angel, but also a wise teacher. Many years later, being already a well-known poetess, Marina Tsvetaeva was able to appreciate the lessons that her mother taught her in her childhood, trying to save her daughter from mistakes and life’s adversity. Therefore, the poem is riddled with mild sadness and regret that not all lessons were learned, but, unfortunately, it is already impossible to correct mistakes and live life anew.
3 rd place. Mother in the image of the guardian angel and protector from the hardships of life is one of the most popular heroines of the works of Russian poets. She was remembered as such by Ivan Bunin, who in the poem “Mother” remembers her childhood as the happiest period of life, fanned by maternal love and care. However, for Ivan Bunin, a mother is an exalted being, equated with gods. And the poet managed to keep this association in his soul for the rest of his life.
2nd place. Angel, but not ephemeral, but quite tangible and earthly – just such a mother appears in Sergey Yesenin’s poem “Letter to Mother”. The monologue of the poet, addressed to an elderly woman, is filled with sadness and regret that he was far from being the best son, delivering many experiences to his closest person. In his letter, Sergei Yesenin not only asks her forgiveness for her unattractive life, but also admits that only she alone is able to truly understand and forgive him. At the same time, the mother for the poet is the only person who, no matter what, continues to love him, protect him, wait and commemorate him daily in prayers to the Almighty.
1 place. Being a mother is a great art. But it is even more important to remain a true woman, who over the years has not lost its appeal. All the representatives of the weaker sex, who know the joy of motherhood, the poet Alexander Tvardovsky dedicated his poem “Your beauty does not grow old …”. Mother is always the best for her children. Over the years, many of us still see before us a young and charming woman, not noticing the wrinkles on her mother’s face and the gray hair in her hair. And this is not a game of imagination, but the magic image that remains in memory for the whole life due to the fact that each mother is a standard of beauty for the child, shaping his tastes and worldview.
